Julieann Thurlow Elected to Bankers’ Bank Northeast’s
Board of Directors

Julieann Thurlow, President and Chief Executive Officer at Reading Co-operative Bank in Reading, Massachusetts, has been elected to the Bankers’ Bank Northeast Board of Directors.
“We are honored to welcome Julie Thurlow to the Bankers’ Bank Northeast team,” said Peter J. Sposito, CEO of Bankers’ Bank Northeast who led the group responsible for selecting Thurlow as a new board member at the Bank’s Annual Meeting. “Her extensive experience in financial services, bank management and community development make her a strong asset to Bankers’ Bank Northeast. Her aggressive stance in the form of new product development and implementation makes her an ideal director for a bankers’ bank board,” he said.
Thurlow, a resident of Methuen, Mass. joined Reading Co-operative Bank in 1993 and rose through the ranks to become President in 2006. She holds an MBA from the Charles F. Dolan School of Business at Fairfield University, and has completed advanced studies at the Stonier National School of Banking and the Massachusetts School for Financial Studies, where she previously served on the Professional Development Council.

Thurlow is a member of the Mass Bankers Association Federal Liaison Committee, a former member of the board of the Co-operative Bank Employee Retirement Association, and a member of the ABA Government Relations Council and ABA Membership Council. She is a founding member and a current Board member of BancAlliance, Inc. and a former member of the GRC Administrative Committee. She holds Series 6 and 63 securities licenses as well as Life, Accident and Health Insurance licenses.
Thurlow is also the President of The Reading Co-operative Charitable Foundation and is active in identifying and supporting organizations and projects that improve the quality of life in and around the communities served by the Bank. In her own community, Thurlow is President of the Board of the VNA Middlesex East & Sawtelle Family Hospice House, a Trustee of Winchester Hospital, a board member of the Mission of Deeds and a past President of the Reading Lions Club, past President & Director of the Reading-North Reading Chamber of Commerce and past Treasurer & Director of the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce. Her former employers include Lawrence Savings Bank, The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Boston Bank of Commerce and Winchendon Savings Bank.
